Where Dance & Marketing Take Each Others’ Hands like Fred and Ginger

Hey there, I’m Amy! Growing up in a small town in Central Wisconsin, I started my studio dance journey at the age of 3 as a bunny who lost her ballet shoes. I danced all through school in studios and on my high school dance team, and into college where I went on to earn my BA in Dance from Columbia College Chicago. After that, I headed West to California where I became a traveling preschool dance teacher and regional manager of the company.

It was during this time that I realized the direct coordination between having on-point (no pun intended) marketing materials and my enrollment in classes. The better my flyers looked, the clearer my communication with parents, the more I nurtured my students… the more kids signed up and the more money I made! So I went back to school for Advertising and got my BS in Advertising from the Art Institute of Orange County.

My very first job out of school was as the social media content coordinator for the corporate offices of Discount Dance Supply. Ever heard of it? 😉 From there I moved on to a variety of online marketing agencies in Southern California acting as a social media manager, copywriter, and senior copywriter, before setting off to grow my own freelance business.

That business evolved into an agency… and then one day, it clicked. I had always had at least one dance client on my roster as a freelancer, and they always brought me the most joy to work on… so why not build a whole AGENCY for dancers?! So here we are.
